HILBERT MUSEUM OF CALIFORNIA PRESENTS

NEW! Online Ticketing for Hilbert Museum Events

The Hilbert Museum continues to grow in popularity, and that is,. as they say, “a good problem to have”! However, in order to be able to offer our very limited seating at museum events fairly to our audiences — without having patrons line up outside hours in advance or worry that no seats will be left — we have decided to go to online ticketing through Chapman University’s system. The tickets to our FREE events will still be FREE — the only difference is that now you’ll register online and get your ticket(s) through the online system. Then just print and bring your ticket to the door at the event! It will also help us keep track of how many tickets are selected. Seats are non-reserved, so it’s still suggested you show up when doors open if you want to sit in a particular area — but you won’t need to worry that all the seats will be gone when you arrive. The ticketing system will let you know when seating is completely sold out.

ABOUT THE HILBERT MUSEUM

The Hilbert Museum of California Art at Chapman University, which opened in 2016, was established thanks to the generosity of Mark and Janet Hilbert, whose superlative collection focuses on the “California Scene” painting movement of roughly the 1920s through the 1970s and beyond. The Hilbert Collection – which includes oils, watercolors and drawings of rural and urban scenes, coastal views, farms, ranches, freeways and landscapes of everyday life in the Golden State – is a significant repository of 20th-century representational art by California artists.  The Collection also includes animation and movie art (many California fine artists were drawn to the state by work in the movie industry, including as animators, background painters, set and backdrop designers and poster artists) and works by noted American illustrators.
